With the completion of Eureka Miniatures' special subscription project that resulted in their newly released 28mm 1920s jazz band of legendary performers, and a set of "foxtrotting flappers and strutters," I and many others had finally found some of the Pulp and Gangster Era figures most wanted since this branch of the hobby tree first bloomed.
But, still not satisfied, I greedily shared with Nic my hope for possibly several more sets of figures to make for even better Pulp, Gangster, and Detective games. Indeed, I provided him a torrent of period art/photos to help inspire his sculptor, and a few of same are attached here.
With his typical willingness to see that gamers can get what they really want, he has added the following sets to Eureka's 100 Club:
- 100CLUB20C75
- Night Club Employees - seven figures - $25.00 AUD
- 100CLUB20C76
- Chorus Girls - one figure - $2.95 AUD
- 100CLUB20C77
- Night Club Performers - five figures - $18.00 AUD
Inspired by film noir and "hard boiled" P.I. fiction, I saw these dressed for the 30s-40s, and ready to populate either a night club or fancy restaurant, the sort of place where the big shots play, and great characters for scenarios can be found. The numbers of each set are not finalized, but a dozen or so individual sculpts are possible with sufficient support.

In the night club/restaurant, there should be such suitably uniformed types as The Doorman, The Maitre D', at least one Waiter, plus one each Hat Check and Cigarette Girls, perhaps a Cocktail Waitress, and a Girl Photographer. The girls would all be in matching period, short-skirted, uniforms, as could the Photographer, but frequently being an "independent contractor," she might just be in a fine gown — and carrying her large box camera.

The "chorus girls" could be four or five of the same figure, in effect, all in the same costume, long-legged high-kicking or other likely pose as they perform on stage. Room here for lots of feathers, outrageous headdresses, and huge smiles.
Finally, the entertainment could really be a mixed and colorful bag: a "Not-1940-Frank-Sinatra" Crooner, a sexy Chanteuse, a Stand-Up Comic, a Ventriloquist (with dummy!), and, neither last nor least, a Fan Dancer, a la the immortal Sally Rand.
Nic gave me permission to float this project past those who can see the utility and sheer fun of having such figures play roles in their games. He even said a few other poses or other figure types might be suggested, as alternates, if not necessarily extra figures.
So, here's Nic's offer: For each of these three sets (at least) for which 75 serious customers will commit to buy, he will give his excellent sculptor, Alan Marsh (who made the jazz band legends and dancers) the green light to set to work.
For now, we should expect a price of $2.95 AUD (essentially the same price in USD) per figure, though a full set of 13 such figures could go for $40.00 AUD - the same basic bargain as the jazz band and dancers. To choose your set(s), state the number of each set you wish by following this link.
Because this is a Special Offer, requiring only half the commitments of the usual 150 (sic) for a 100 Club item, this program will be good for only a limited time, though Nic will make that decision and share it once the balloon goes up.

And, at the risk of "blue-skying," a set of burlesque performers would be great to have, too! Bouncers, strippers (e.g. Gypsy Rose Lee), baggy-pants and slapstick comedians, "novelty acts," etc, could all add even more characters and color to our games!
