OK, the NK-26 was actually (IIRC) partially armoured (hence the fully enclosed set-up) against small arms on the front and sides of the crew compartment.

This new model from Bolt Action was the smaller, faster, unarmoured recce vehicle. Larger transport variants existed including a small personnel transport "bus(!!!!)."

They were used to scout and for aggressive raiding on isolated Axis garrisons, and for hunting down convoys in winter behind enemy lines, and other mischief highly suitable for large skirmish wargaming purposes.evil grin

I corresponded with a former Finnish Army officer whose dad had served during the war and among other things participated in a number of raids on Soviet aerosans sheds, so Finnish ski troops vs. Soviet aerosans is as good a place to start as any… perhaps an aerosans raid on a Finnish supply convoy of reindeer sleds, in case somebody starts making Finns in 28mm… evil grin

Very cool of Bolt Action to produce these machines!evil grin

Who wouldn't want a propeller-driven, machinegun-armed snowmobile in their Soviet army? Lucky for you, our new Soviet Aerosan is here, then!

Gaz-98 Aerosan

The GAZ-98 was developed in 1942, and is powered by a GAZ-M1 truck engine and armed with a drum-fed Light Machine Gun.

Our model is made from resin and metal. The crew use our Figure Heads System, so you can swap them with each other for more variation, or you could even use other Figure Heads to create your own unique model – combining them with our Commando heads would make a great Special Ops vehicle for Pulp gaming...

Gaz98 Aerosan

To ensure a lifetime on the tabletop, the skis are molded onto the base, protecting them from mishaps. The pics above show the master model – the base has been modeled to look like snowy ground.

You can order your Aerosan here! This is such a great-looking model, how can you afford to pass it up?
