"I'm afraid I cannot see how "standardising unit names" would help a newbie."

Well I did write it 14 years ago and you are the first person to mention it as a problem! LOL :-)

Whatever you call the units and in whatever language (and who knows what we we call units in 100 years) it does not affect the system of issuing orders to units from the HQ APC's to unit Command vehicles…

"a section is an infantry unit, never a tank unit."

Never say never! :-)

According to this document a USMC tank platoon of four tanks is spilt into two sections of two tanks with two section commanders (see page three – link

Whilst currently the platoon is the USMC minimum manoeuvre unit, in 100 years these two tanks may have the capability to operate independently…

After being reminded by Personal logo Editor in Chief Bill The Editor of TMP Fezian that we hadn't issued our 6mm SF armoured warfare rules (Iron Cow 2103AD) in PDF, I've been busy typing and formatting away. As with previous PDF releases, it will be A4 with lots of colour photos of toys in action (which will be mainly from the dedicated Brigade Models line of Iron Cow miniatures, but also include some GZG, Scotia, etc.) and available from Wargame Vault.

Further good news is that I have been inspired by the forthcoming Russian releases from Brigade that I have been working on a dedicated supplement (Za Rodina!) which introduces the Neo-Soviets into Iron Cow and comes complete with background, unit TO&Es, vehicle and troop stats, some scenarios and a mini-campaign. This will be only available in PDF at the same time (or just after) the main rulebook finds its way onto Wargame Vault.

This may be the start of a number of supplements, as I already had a project on the South African Confederation underway which could be expanded, and have a lot of material on the New Guinea War that we did not finalize into a planned supplement.
