Warlord Games: Hail Caesar! Rick Priestley's Progress Update

bosco05, it's called "first impressions". I'm prefectly entitled to have first impressions based on the information given out in a preview teaser article. That's why they release such hype, adverts and preview information in the first place: to start discussion of the product and therefore spark up interest, in the hope that the first impressions are favourable and you want to learn more and buy their product.

Unfortunately, my own first impressions were not all they would have hoped for. Black Powder does not exactly rock my world and what I've read in this tease preview (that it's more of the same) does not bode well for Hail Caesar as far as I'm concerned. I like the sound of some elements of the game, but not others so much. I will take a look at Hail Caesar at Salute, I'll likely give it a trial game or two, but previews for other rules are interesting me a lot more than this one does and this preview has not changed this. Sorry about that.

We all have our own preferences, our own tastes, our own styles. It's not wrong to be an individual and have one's own approach. What works for me might not for you and what works for you might not for me. No need to jump on people just because they have a different opinion and have employed their own mind.

Rick Priestley has kindly supplied us with an update, some details and other musings on our forthcoming Ancients ruleset, Hail Caesar!

Playtesting

In fact, so prodigious is the man's output, that he's supplied us with two such tidbits. Truly, our cup runneth over with spoilers.

I won't even try to paraphrase the great man, as I will inevitably get it painfully wrong, so check out the links and see for yourself.

If any of you feel the urge to flesh out your Ancients forces in anticipation, our website has them in colossal quantities.
