As was promised in the 2014 Annual, published last November, this year there will be two publications. The first is this Summer Special. The second will be the 2015 Wargamers' Annual, which should be out around November as usual. The intention is to spread the content over two publications to avoid literally busting at the seams by cramming everything into a single magazine.
I am delighted to say that our contributors have once again come up with a varied range of articles which will, I hope, provide something for everyone. As ever, I must thank them for their generous contributions, which are rewarded only by a free copy of the publication.
As we start the commemorations for the anniversary of The Great War, I thought it would be interesting to look not at the images of trench warfare, but to reflect on the color and pageantry portrayed by the cavalry at the start of the 20th Century, in the twilight of the arme blache and the beau sabre. Bob Marrion has provided some colorful studies, so many in fact, that I have divided them between the Summer Special and the next Annual.
A number of our contributors have taken up the vignette challenge proposed in the last Annual, and I hope you will find some inspiring subjects.
