Thanks for the kind words, mmitchell – and pleased to hear you got a laugh out of my entry.

I know Grog didn't want a X & Y name, but I couldn't pass on "Girls and Giggles". It was just too right in light of the source material.

I just hope that we had enough Bruces, Sheila's and Badgers Noses to make up for the 5 lost points. If not, we can offer up some "Otter Bollix" to enhance the product.

;)

Mark "Extra Crispy" Severin of Scale Creep Miniatures writes:

Time for another silly contest to appease Grog and save the world. And you could win $50 USD in swag from Scale Creep Miniatures.

Grog

So what's the deal this time? Simple. Describe a set of rules for gaming the novels of one of the following authors:

  • Jane Austen
  • Thomas Pynchon
  • William Faulkner
  • John Hawkes
  • Louis-Ferdinand Celine
  • James Joyce

You may use a single work or their entire body of writings (novels only, please). Be sure to tell us what author they're for. Give them a snappy name. Grog likes snappy names. Minus 5 points for any name of the "word1 and word2" form.

The contest ends when Grog grows weary of your mortal notions of wit and humor.

The Rules:

To enter just reply to this story. One entry per TMP member. All entries must include your email address. All entries must be long enough but not too long. Channeling the dead authors is not allowed. No poofters. Extra credit if you sign your entry "Bruce" or "Sheila." Grog reserves the right to choose a winner that violates these rules. Those who fail to follow the rules will be fed to Grog or such minor demon as he shall appoint. Not valid in Bongolesia. Entrants must be humanoid, with fewer than six tentacles, and able to write in coherent American English.
