Love the ad exec speak – what it really means is it couldn't cross trenches!

You have nooo idea how miserable the St. Chamond was in anything other than flat, level ground:

Just a poorly imagined design created by engineers that had no detectable knowledge of the actual battlefield environment they expected their pet design to actually function in.

That being said, I have always thought that the St. Chamond would be a fantastic basis for an Ork battlewagon for Warhammer 40K (just add spikes, razor wire, and Orky-tech weaponry).evil grin

Following the success of the World War I tanks released late last year, our modelers have been hard at work – and we're proud to follow-up this week with the release of the French St-Chamond Tank! With much of WWI involving French troops, we couldn't really let the British and Germans have all the glory…

Saint-Chamond

The Saint-Chamond came into production in April 1917, with 400 being produced. With a crew of eight, it weighed-in at 23 tonnes and with a top speed of 12km/h and the 75mm Mle 1897 installed as the main armament – it remained in service through until the late summer of 1918. Once the fighting had moved from the trenches to open ground, the Saint-Chamond became increasingly effective – and the core chassis was continually up-gunned and up-armored through the war.

Saint-Chamond

The Saint-Chamond is the latest addition to our range of World War I tanks – so head over to the webstore and pick-up something a little different to accompany your Bolt Action Great War forces. When we showed the preview of this vehicle on our Warlord Games Facebook page, several of you suggested it would be a great basis for a science-fiction or steampunk vehicle, too!
