Mr Canuck, you can see a synopsis of the different schools of magic by clicking the wizard photos in the Nickstarter.

For instance:
"Summoners work their magic by opening doorways to different planes of existence. Usually this is to bring forth creatures from these other planes to use as servants, although there are other ways to use this power."

Soldiers

If you haven't heard about Frostgrave yet, the fantasy wargame coming from Osprey Games in July of this year, then click here to read all about it.

In the game of Frostgrave, your Wizard takes a team of soldiers into the frozen city of Frostgrave looking for magical items. Here at North Star, we have teamed up with Osprey to bring you a range of figures to go with the game, including the Soldiers.

Sigilist and Soldiers

We have got two separate releases. One is a plastic boxed set, called Frostgrave Soldiers, and the other is a series of figure packs containing two metal models.

The plastic boxed set can be used to build your basic chaps: the Thugs, Men at Arms, Archers, etc. Each boxed set has 20 plastic bodies, 40 heads, around 100 arms, plus various pieces of equipment. This means you can build up a really unique band of soldiers for your Wizards party. Bear in mind, you can only take up to nine Soldiers with you into Frostgrave – the boxed set can either work for two players, or give you loads of variety.

FGV204 Tracker and Warhound

I've included here the art we're using for the box cover, and a couple of photographs North Star's Kev Dallimore took while playing around with the first test frame figures we got this week.

The reason we've made metal Soldiers is because there are some specialist Soldiers you can recruit that are beyond the scope of the plastic boxed set. These include the Barbarian, the Thief, the Apothecary, and the War Dog. It also includes armored figures (the plastic figures don't have armor).

FGV203 Apothecary and Marksman

Frostgrave is out late July 2015. We are running a Nickstarter pre-order campaign right now, where if you place your pre-order now, we've giving you all sorts of freebies and bonuses.

All Frostgrave figures are 28mm-sized and supplied unpainted.

FGV201 Thief and Barbarian

You can join in the Nickstarter campaign in the U.S.A. with Brigade Games, in Germany with Miniaturicum, and in Australia with War and Peace Games.
