Leading these Russian troops was perhaps the most famous Russian General of his day: Major General Michael Skobelev, Hero of Plevna, Shipka and battles against the Turcomen. This figure depicts him in the assault on the Griviska Redoubts, when his horse was shot, his sword broken, and he entered Redoubt No. 10 on foot at the head of his troops.
