We've just learned that Crimson Skies, a recent boardgame from
FASA Corporation, will be supplemented with a line of miniatures.
According to the press material we've received:
Crimson Skies takes place in an alternative America of the 1930s,
wherein the American Civil War never really ended. Dirigibles dominated the sky while
swarms of pre-jet fighters clash. Throw in pirates and you've got Jordan Weisman's
newest brainchild.
The Story: Only 70 years after fighting a bloody civil war to maintain the
union, the United States shatters under the weight of the Great Depression, regional Prohibition
and mounting isolationism. The transcontinental railroad and the budding highway system
become useless as they now cross hostile borders. Air travel and combat, once a national
obsession, now becomes the life line connecting allied countries. Giant zeppelins cross
the skies, carrying both passengers and cargo.
Where money goes, evil follows. Squadrons of pirates prey upon the behemoths, militias
form to stop them, and each other. Squadrons such as the Empire States Broadway Bombers
and the Hollywood Knights are famous for their hunting prowess.
Rise to the challenge...join an Air Legion today!
