About Me

I have been working in the game industry since 1979 when I illustrated a few articles in the Space Gamer magazine (then published by MetaGaming). Between 1981 and 1984, I working in Field Archaeology as both an excavator/surveyor and field artist. Since 1984, I have been working full-time in some capacity or the other within the game industry, either on staff of a publishing company or as a freelance art director/illustrator/graphic artist. Over the last 10 years I have been working for myself. My work involves taking on commissions from various book publishers and ad agencies, working on freelance book layout projects etc. To say I am busy is very much an understatement. I work between 12 and 14 hour days, 7 days a week (about 100 hours a week). I even work on Christmas/Boxing Day and New Years evening and day. My job entails creating concepts and taking them to innovative final products. I make the impossible possible.

Games Played

2012 started off being very busy and it will only get worse (or better?) depending on how you look at it. So far, I have only been able to play two games this year. One was a Sci-Fi tank game in January and the other was a Roman Seas game at a local convention in March. I have been working on my Sci-Fi tank game, on-and-off since 1985. More off than on. The original game was based on an old game that was published many years ago , but over the years it evolved into its own system. I designed my game to be both fun and fast paced where you can use any miniatures/vehicle models you wants. In the past we have used Ogre miniatures (Ogre MKIV, MKIII, heavy and light tanks, missile tanks etc) many MAATAC tanks, BattleTech, and a variety of other manufacturers such as GHQ, Scotia, etc. Since the 1980's, many more Sci-Fi miniatures have come onto the market so the scope of the game could encompass literally hundreds of different types of tanks, trucks, artillery, missiles, etc. The next game we will be playing will mostly be an infantry game to test the infantry rules, which will have a completely different feel, but should still be a lot of fun!
