I have some different unpainted 28mm ACW figures for sale.

First is a unit of 24 figures representing the 4th New Hampshire in sun helmet with command. link
I'm not sure of the manufacturer but I believe it's Firing Line

Second are 3 units of 24 Federal Militia in Shako and overcoats with command by Perry Miniatures.

$30 USD per unit of 24 figures
PM or email me at Rdfraf@aol.com

The hat in question is called a "Whipple Cap" and was a state issued item, for that unit, if I recall correctly.

Here's a photo of the unit. They look like British sun helmets to me

Well, I can say that's the first time I've ever seen a miniature like that.

When I've been asked about the "sun helmet" of the 4th NH, it's pretty clear from the photos of the period that the soldiers are wearing a Whipple cap.

Good luck with the sale.

Look like British colonials to me. Maybe the label on the package of figs was mislabled.

They are Firing line ACW figures. The 4th New Hampshire might have worn sun helmets according to this link. link

Okay if you say so , that's fine by me. Was just making a comment after having read the link and seen the figs.

If such a helmet was used during the ACW, I'm sure we would have seen a picture or two of the thing surface, or even a mention in a journal. I have to agree with Dadster and epturner, I think something was mislabeled there.

Now this would be moderately interesting.

Are you sure they are by Firing Line? I tried to look online and the company that bought them out doesn't list the 4th New Hampshire nor show any photos of what they do carry. Also you stated 24 figures and I counted 25 and with the command stand where is the drummer? Most companies include a drummer with Union infantry.
