Notes on the Italian 'deserters' who escaped capture by Scipio`s forces at the battle of Zama

Description

The following notes on Italian “deserters” in Carthage after the second Punic War are supplemental to my previous papers on the battle of Zama. The presence of these demobilised troops in Carthage at the end of the Punic War is something of an untidy end which I believe needs to be addressed.
