Medium indicates the primary material from which the product is fabricated. The different categories are: |
Lead alloy | Metal alloy containing lead. This is the classic material for wargaming figures, although pewter has become more popular lately due to (ill-founded?) concerns about the safety of lead. |
Pewter | Promoted as a "safer" material than lead alloys. Takes detail better than lead, but is more difficult to modify and sometimes brittle. |
Plastic (hard) | Hard plastic, usually produced through injection molding, is used for most plastic model kits and some plastic figures. |
Resin (solid) | The major element(s) of the figure or model are composed of solid resin. Additional parts may be of metal, particularly detail pieces. |
Transfer | Material which allows an image to be transfered to another surface. Water-release decals are a variety of transfer. |
