T and T

Tunnels and Trolls – the first major challenger to the original D&D role playing system which attracted a number of players because it was cheaper than D&D, and also provided mechanisms to add onto the (at that time) fairly basic D&D system.

T&T's style was often tongue in-cheek, which probably put off more players than it amused.
