Plus One Confederates

Also seen as '+1 Confederates', '+1 French', '+1 Panzer Grenadiers', etc.

Literally, the term refers to a bonus (the 'Plus One') given to one force in a game ('Confederates' are the most frequent exemplar) because they are perceived to be of better troop quality than their opposition.

Usually used disparagingly.
While there may well have been many instances when (Force A) enjoyed man-for-man superiority over (Force B) – to state that this was always the case implies lazy generalization and/or lack of research.
