Literally; 'I go, you go'.

The convention of each player, or side, taking turns to move their forces and perform their actions.

On the one hand, it is a straightforward way to keep track of the course of the game.
On the other, there are those who say it's too simplistic and does not reflect the reality of both sides acting at the same time.
