APs

Action Points.

Game mechanism in which a figure, vehicle or unit has a set number of 'points' each turn, and performs its actions – moving, shooting, whatever – by 'spending' these points.

Typical example: a rifleman with 6AP per turn moves 3 inches (3AP) aims (1AP) & fires (1AP) then spends his last point to take cover.

Also: Army Points. Players spend points to design their armies. Intended to provide balanced games with armies of equal potential.
