Last Painter Standing II Contest Entry Form

This is a multi-round contest in which the Finalists will paint a series of models from Iron Wind Metals' BattleTech line. After each round, one Finalist will be "voted out" of the contest by the readers of TMP. The last painter remaining will win a $300 USD grand prize supplied by Iron Wind Metals.

In Stage One (the stage we're on now), contestants submit one photo of their work and a written explanation of why they should be chosen as Finalists. Our readers will vote for the top ten entries, who become the Finalists and go on to Stage Two. (If there is a large number of entries, the voting will be divided into multiple rounds or divisions at the discretion of the Editor.)

During Stage Two, the painting rounds will begin. During each painting round, a painting theme will be announced. All Finalists will be supplied with a BattleTech 'Mech miniature, and will have at least 30 days to paint it. The Finalists will each submit an article (with photos) (to be published in our Workbench feature). Based on these photos, the readers of TMP will then vote for the painter who will drop out of the contest for that round.

After each round, there will be one less painter in the contest. After the last round, only one painter will remain. He or she will receive the grand prize supplied by Iron Wind Metals.

Deadline for Entries:

No entries will be accepted later than Wednesday, November 30th, 2005, midnight website time (Pacific Standard Time).

How Many Times Can I Enter?

Once.

What Will We Paint?

Each round will involve a single Iron Wind Metals 'Mech. All contestants will paint a unique model each round.

What Are The Photo Specifications?

Photos should be no wider than 550 pixels, in JPG format (".jpg" extension), with a maximum file size of 50K. The miniature in the photo can be any scale or subject, but it must have been painted by you. The photo must not have been previously posted on the internet.

How Will the Painting Themes Be Selected?

TMP members will nominate themes for the contest, then vote for their favorites.

Can We Keep the Figures?

Yes. Obviously, the longer you last in the contest, the more models you receive (and can keep). Official BattleTech hex bases will also be supplied (and are required).

What If I Miss a Deadline?

A deadline will be set at the start of each round. If a Finalist fails to submit their article and photos by the deadline, they are out of the contest.

Are There Any Requirements to be a Finalist?

You can't already be a Finalist in any other TMP contest. Also, participants in the previous Last Painter Standing contest are excluded.

Do I Have to Live in the U.S.?

No, this contest is worldwide. However, you must pay for any customs duties or local taxes due when you receive the contest package(s).

But I Don't Want To Paint Over The Holidays...

The first painting round of this contest will not start until 2006.
