Proposed Painting Plan for Hang-Glider

I plan to go with the late 19th century glider look of wood and canvas. The vertical bar at the front of the frame offers a really nice opportunity to add a bunch of rigging lines for that turn-of-the-century flier look. The pilot will get treated in warm colors to match the rest of the army. I typically use a lot of washes and drybrushes, so should be able to bring out the detail on the wood very nicely. I'm also a firm believer that proper basing goes a long way toward making a model really look good and I'll likely base the figure on a nice base with some detailing, retaining the clear support post.

Dwarf fighter

This is a 28mm Reaper mini (I forget just which one). As with a lot of dwarves, you get a lot of armor, so have to add as much accent as possible, which I dd in this case mainly with the red beard and various decorations on the armor and weapons.

Other Information

I have been painting figures for about 20 years. I entered one of the Reaper on-line painting contests and took home a third prize, so I have successfully photgraphed my work before. I mostly do historicals now, but do dabble in fantasy and sci-fi (I just sold off my collection of 15mm fantasy figs). Examples of my figures will be posted in the Club Figure Gallery (folder Brian) at the Yahoo groups page for Brazos Valley Historical Miniatures in the photos section.
