TheCaptainGeneral & 's Contest Entry

TheCaptainGeneral's Qualifications

I was introduced to the hobby of miniature gaming about 9 years ago, when I purchased a box of Space Marines. Since then, I have been hooked on miniature painting, miniature gaming, and miniature sculpting.

I have taught numerous people to play miniature games, running demos, painting workshops and terrain-building workshops. I try and introduce people to historical and alternate types of games to try and break them away from the Games Workshop grip. Many people believe that Games Workshop is the only miniatures company out there! (I live in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada... Most people don't get out much!)

I have reviewed miniature rules before, for my local gaming club. We take turns buying rulesets and teach each other a new game each month. We have not tried a gladiatorial game yet, and I think this would be an opportunity to spice things up.

Thank you!

's Qualifications

I began playing with miniature wargames in 2000. My older cousin got me into the loop and I like it. Painting and playing miniatures like Warhammer 40,000 and 15mm 1945 mini's are both hobbies I enjoy.

My cousin and I are both employed as writers for a magazine, so we see each other everyday. We usually discuss tactics (if we are on the same side) - or talk trash to each other if we are on opposing sides!

We have never played a gladiatorial game, so some change would be a welcome sight/read!

Also, from looking at the other 2 entrants we have seen... we look to be the youngest and most dashing! (If you are wondering, I am 17 and Cap'n is 20.)
