wehrmacht & smcwatt's Contest Entry

wehrmacht's Qualifications

I've been playing historical wargames for almost 20 years. I was an English and Philosophy major in university and have practised law as a profession for ten years, so I know which end of the pen goes on the paper. This is a fancy way of saying I knows how to write a bit. grin

As far as specific hobby interests go, I've edited a set of club rules for gladiatorial combat (Munera Sine Missione, an excellent set of rules written by Alan Saunders and Gary Comardo), have a nice collection of Foundry gladiators, and have built a small arena for games. The Munera Sine Missione rules are a club favourite, and we'd love to play and review the Hail Caesar! rules.

Thanks for the chance at it.

Both wehrmacht and myself have a varied selection of finished gladiators that we have been using for Munera Sine Missione. Dallas has built a provincial arena, made in the style of logs and posts, while another friend of ours, homenick, has built a full coliseum. Also, we all have digital cameras, so pictures would be provided if required.

Our Thursday night group is made of about eight regular attendees, as per work schedules. All are fans of gladiator games; in fact, one even had a gladiator-themed bachelor party, with gladiator gaming and gladiator movies playing on the VCR. We use a varied range of figures, from Foundry, Citadel and Black Tree Design. My personal favourite is the Retiarius (I love the net).

Thank you for your consideration!
