I'm happy to see Venexia has added heavy cavalry and mtd. and foot crossbowmen to their 28mm Condottieri XV cent. range.

I have the usual question, how big are their 28's compared to other manufactures. The only previously released pack were men-at-arms on barded horses. So if anyone has a pack of these could you give me a comparison.

Thanks, Ron

The cavalry are sort of strange. The horses seem to have long legs and the men seem to be on the small side, the heads especially so. The will not mix with FR, though they probably will with Mirliton.
I was dead excited when the pictures of the masters came out and a little dissapointed with the figures themselves.
Cant speak for the infantry, but they do look a touch pedestrian from what I have seen.
I will wait until I see some first hand or some better photos appear.
Considering their 15mm are so good, they have made a poor transition to 28mm.

Hi…. Venexia 28's fit well with Mirliton, Grenadier and Foundry.

The figs are nice and cleanly cast however the heads do look a bit small but this isn't noticeable once they've been painted.

My only whinge is the time it takes to prep the mtd knights for painting. Although there's next to no flash the figs have a separate arm that requires pinning, separate weapon, scabbard, head and finally has to be attached to a horse. When time's short all this extra work is something I can do without.

Nevertheless they are very nice figs and thankfully the newer figs haven't as many parts. I'll continue to buy them and hope they'll produce a couple of decent command sets and some late medieval venetian figs. I'll stick a size comparison on the renwars website later.

The latest news is that the next additons to the 28 mm range will be light infantry and mounted command. Availability in weeks not months.

Meanwhile UK readers can order the existing range via link

I second what Sash said. Nice figures that fit in well with other ranges. A bit smaller than some other ranges. Certainly not heroic 28's.

Hi… I've added a couple of pics to the renwars website showing the size comparison between a few manufacturers… sorry I can't provide a link… I'm still pap with computers.

Martin is it worth sending a pre order for the upcoming figs and do you know if have Venexia plans to produce 28mm stradiots in the near future?
