Our gaming group at my local club tried out Victory at Sea rules yesterday.

We are now thinking of buying and painting 1/3000th Scale Vessels for UK, Germany, USA, Japan and Italy, 1939 – 45.

Does anyone have any suggestions for Colour picture references of WW2 Naval Vessels, either books or websites that show the various shades of grey, weathering, decking colours, disruptive patterns, special markings and the like.

Also, if people have researched this themselves already. What specific paint Manufacturers and paint numbers did you use.
e.g Humbrol Grey No** for Superstructure and No ** for wooden decking etc.

We are UK based and have access to Humbrol, Revell oils,
Vallejo, GW, Tamiya, Colour Party and Miniature Paints water colour ranges.

Track down a copy of

"The painters Guide to World War Two Naval Camouflage"

Published by CLASH OF ARMS
ISBN – 1 85818 000 7

That should help

Monkey Hanger is right. A great book for camo, if you can find a copy.
