Does anyone have some pictures of thier martian cities that they could post a link to?
I need some inspiration.

I bought a number of Crescent Root N. African buildings. Mark painted them for me in a terra-cotta sort of red. Add a few bits of bright color to give it a more exotic feel, and Bob's your uncle. Sadly, all in storage, so no pics to share…

I haven't gotten around to making Martian buildings yet.

As some stop-gap scenery I used some overturned, weathered, terracotta plant pots out of my garden as royal tombs. (hence them not having any doors or windows)

What type of Martian city are you thinking of? John Carter of Mars? War of the Worlds? Space 1889? Something else?

Maybe a web search of pulp scifi artwork sites would help?

I made some truncated pyramids out of foam core for martian buildings. Nothing special but I'll try and get a pic or two up this evening.

I did a bunch of googling for martian city images a while ago and I can only say that Freud would have been proud.

S1889
At the moment I have a bunch of Yoplait yogurt and various fruit cups painted up in martian colors but they look more like a village than a city.
I'm looking for a couple of med-large buildings to tie them together.

I used blisters (from minis, hotwheels, toys) sprayed with Red Primer (more red brown). Lots of buidings quick and cheap.

The're nice are they foamcore?
I've never been able to do angled in structures.

Foamcore and modelling paste. The dome on the large building is the top half of a plastic margarita glass.

I make templates on graph paper to keep the pitch consistent and then just eyeball the bevel cut where they join up. Modelling paste covers an infinite number of sins.

There are a few pics of some Martin Dwellings on my web site gamecraftersltd.com in the what's cooking section

Skrapwelder,

Here's a link to some pictures of Patrick's and my Martian fort, that sadly, was destroyed in a tumble I had down the basement stairs. At least there are some pictures to prove It did exist.

For the photos in Space: 1889's Soldier's Companion, GDW used foam from computer components with a few selected domes from plastic Easter eggs (top and bottom) with larger domes made from empty L'Eggs pntyhose containers. Coat with thinned white glue, a dusting of fine sand, and paint to taste. For some shots we used the old Warhammer Mighty Fortress components as city walls.

Sigh.

I miss those days . . .

Gray Ghost,

A long time ago, I made some exotic forts and walled compounds using 2 styrofoam coolers like this:

Total cost: $3 USD

I wish I had taken pictures of the finished product.

"Gray Ghost",
you really should buy a digital camera and open a blog! You canNOT be as computerilliterate & Internet-challenged than I am, and I'm not really ashamed by what I did: so….
Cheers!

What about cheap plastic champagne/wine glasses? Can even cut off the stems to make fun chimneys on them.
