Taken from a post by Gisby:
I have been asked to explain what Cintra/Sintra is.
It is a 3mm thick PVC sheet, used to mount posters, make indoor & outdoor
signs. It cuts AMAZINGLY easily with a craft knife, scores to make board texture,
and can be sanded, drilled, filed, glued, & painted.
It is usually white, but can be ordered in a number of bolours, including grey
and black.
I use it to make walls, bases, and entire buildings.
Best feature: You know how sometimes you try to glue two pieces of plastic, even
with cyano, and you have to wait, wait, wait? Put a dot of cyano on the edge of
a piece of Cintra and press it against another and WHAM! It's together. And it's
a strong joint.
You can also curve it using hot water.
Worst feature? You better place that piece properly, because once that cyano
sets, it's STUCK. Rips-out-chunks stuck.
I last bought it in a 4x8 foot sheet for about $30. USD
