Folks:

Just wanted to let you know that the first version of my rules "Edwardian Splendour" are now available on the web:

go to: legionsofempire.com

Go to the Downloads page.

This is a first draft, so I am looking for comments and input, but what is there has been playtested.

Cheers,

A. Gregory

I was going to use Chris Peers Ever Victorious Armies for my 42mm Russo-Turkish War games at ColdWars07. Imagine my surprise when I look at your rules and find a photo of my Russian Guard in attack column! grin

I downloaded the rules this morning, I'll give them a read tonight and if they fit, I'll be using them to run at least 2 games at ColdWars07.

I will also run a few games in the next month or so with my daughters and wife.

I have more pix of you are interested!

Thanks for the rules. I collect 54mm figures but would not consider gaming with them due to their cost. I will probably game with my 25mm figs although this in some ways goes against the spirit of toy soldier gaming. I have been very dissatisfied with my gaming of late and the charm and simplicity of your rules strikes a pleasant chord in my persona.

I got the picture from Irregular – great stuff. If you have more, send them to me (info@legionsofempire.com). And I'd already discovered your blog – thanks for that. Let me know what you think of the rules – we've playtested them a bunch, but just here in my local group. Another opinion is always welcome.

Allen57: I guess I am the same – there's no way anybody is taking my pre-war Britains out on the wargames table (!!!). But there are some good plastics, and you can cast your own figures maybe, so there are some alternatives. I have two types of toy soldiers: my gaming armies and my collectibles. They don't mix (!)

Cheers,

A. Gregory

Even though you have written them for tradtional toy soldiers, after reading them, I am really tempted to use them with my 25mm Ral Partha Colonials for some hypothetical late 19th century actions. They look great.
