The latest version of General Quarters indicates the USN paionted their decks blue at the start of the war. Anyone recommend a Vallejo color to use for deck blue? I'm doing 1:2400 models from GHQ

Testors makes a deck blue paint in acrylic. It is in their Model Master Marine Acrylic line, it is #4243 Deck Blue 20B. |

Based on the Snyder & Short Paint chips that I have: Vallejo 898 048 Dark Sea Blue is just about an exact match and it is the closest of all the Vallejo blues. This is based on matching the actual paint samples from inside the bottle. |

do like I did: be lazy and do it right in the time: by WeM paints: they are the true color ! even my 1/6000 are done that way (with some camo!). otherwise believe me you run the risk of having both sides of you GHq model
not beeing of the same color because of the mix. the UK site (they have a US one too) very helpfull people too. link a frustrated naval gamer (for lack of oponents) jcp |

See Tony Aguilar above this is also my preferred colour. easy to apply too as are all vallejo paints. Sometimes with a touch of white to it to simulate 'aging' of the deck surface over time. |
