Nicely engineered & easy to paint, these 2 boxes should not be long before they hit the market:

I think the Boer wagon looks better with a larger Ox team so I substituted 4 metal ones:

Ochoin,

Looking forward to those wagons being released. I agree that the ox wagons need at least four oxen, ideally six, so I am planning to use some of my large collection of Torres bulls (they are the right size and one comes free with each bottle of Spanish Sangre de Toro red wine).

Here are some of the Bulls used as oxen to draw my Jacobite siege artillery:

You need to scroll down through the posting to see the bulls used as oxen.

Torres used to have the bulls attached to their bottles, stopped for a bit, but are now doing it again. They have about six different poses of Bulls and some are unsuitable, lying down etc, so you will see me in the supermarket searching through the bottles for the poses I want. Need to keep drinking that red wine!!!!!

@ Rod.

Now those are just very nice. I don't know the product they come from but I trust you will manfully & no doubt reluctantly, consume it until you have enough.

If you can find them, Nexus or Atlantic "Stampede" sets have some decent looking cattle that might pass for oxen, but Zulu livestock for sure.

Ochoin,

I have bought Sangre de Toro, complete with plastic bulls, in Morrisons in the past, but my nearest supermarket is Tesco and they are selling it at present. It retails for about £7.00 GBP in UK, but sometimes gets discounted down to £6.00 GBP or even £5.00 GBP I have also bought it is Spain in the past, where it retails at about €4.50 EUR, but when I looked recently the ones in Spain did not have the plastic bulls attached to them.

Bobspruster,

I do have a couple of boxes of the Nexus/Atlantic Stampede set which I intend using as Zulu cattle.

Does anyone have any sources for 28mm ready made "plumes" or feathers" whether they are the more open, flowing sort for Renaissance period or the more cylindrical ones for Napoleonics?

If not, are there any good techniques for making a plume either for a shako or side of a helmet?
