Hello,

I got a battle report from yesterday's day light bombing. One dozen B-17 bombers were sent to bomb an oil refinery. The mission was a success. The target was hit and 9 bombers returned home. The target was guarded by;

3 Hvy AA
3 Lt AA
4 ME 262's
4 FW 190's
4 ME 109's
4 FW 190's in reserve.

The Germen's lost the refinery, 8 FW 190's, 4 ME 109's , and a light AA gun. The ME 262's got one bomber before they ran out of ammo.

The next battle will be after Thanksgiving.

How were the rules? Is this the set that's available as a PDF?

The rules are fun and simple. I have had the rules before they were being sold as PDF's. We had 6 players each with 4 planes or bombers and when the fighters were gone they had AA Guns to roll for. I plan on putting another game at Western Oregon wargamers club next month. Maybe a Battle of Britain with HE 111, stukas, and ME 109's Vrs Spitfires, Hawker Hurricanes, and Mosquitos.

Pictures were taken of the game and will probly be posted on the WOW website by next month.

Sounds to me like the Germans need to go back to flight school ;-).

We play Hunters a lot here in FLA, LOADS of fun. I am currently working on a book of scenarios, and some of the guys I know are working on really neat bases and other accessories for the games.

Good sources for the planes are Heroics & Ros and Scotia Grendell. Both are UK based, but in U.S. you can get them from lastsquare.com or greendragonhobbies.com. The latter also sells the rules nicely pre-printed for the same price as the downloads.

Going to try their modern jet game next, Mach Speed Hunters.

I use prepainted diecast airplanes; Corgi, MotorMax, Sky Wings, Maisto, and model power models. I have 1/300 scale planes, but when corgi came out with the fighter scrable planes that cost as much as a miniature, I bought many.
