Looking for a Staff car to go with my Foundry Home Guard and Foundry and Artizan German paras. Is there any vehicles out there that can be used for such? I'm happy for scale range from 1/56 – 1/43 so long as it looks right against the figs – don't want to start that old "what scale for 28mm" arguement again :(
Any help would be appreciated – thanks.

For British troops Corgi made a Bedford QLR command/signals vehicle 1944. It a truck with a closed up passenger Cabin.

For the German Paras I like to use a German Kettenkrad. Normally to move small artillery pieces or ammunation seems to be a often used to transport staff officers presumably because the Kettenkrad could be transported within a Junkers JU – 52 together with the paratroopers. There is a picture where the commander of all German Fallschirmjaeger, General Student is transported with a Kettenkrad There is a Kettenkrad kit from Tamiya in 1/48 .I think the metal models from Blacktree 28mm are still sold too.

Please execuse errors in my english which is not my own language

If it is for the home guard may I suggest this sloppyjalopy.com/iwv005.html ? I have a memory of very similar vehicles being used as tillies and staff cars when I was a boy.

I don't know how it will fit for size but it is the vehicle I intend to use with Foundry home guard when a painting slot comes up.

Samurai Elb – I think 1/48 will be way too big, but thanks for the comment.
x42brown – Sloppy Jalopy look the part BUT the Copplestone figures pictured along side the vehicles are slightly larger than the Foundry Home Guard and I don't think the two will work together. I would suggest you try and size them up against each other "in the flesh" first before you buy.
VonStengel – have you got a link for the Chevy please?

chieftainmodels.co.uk might have a German vehicle for your use presently. See their site.

What kind of Home Guard vehicle are you looking for? Certainly at the depths of despair the vehicles were make do stuff.

So anykind of truck might do unless you can find some of the improvised vehicles. I don't know of any currently.

Montgomery Robinson – I was thinking of some kind of inter-war vehicle…Alvis or Crossley, more of a regular Army vehicle than a "make do" one.
German Staff car could be used for a Pulp game that I'm toying with at the mo.

I'll see If I cna't post you a pic of mine with some figures for scale.

If you think that 1/48 would be way too big then that 1/43 Chevy will be way, way, way too big.

fictionfactorymodels05 Sep 2006 2:33 p.m. PST

Black Bull – Yep, your right…I had my scales all mixed up there for a minute – apologise Samurai Elb, I shall look into the Tamiya line.
