I saw the POTC Dice game at my local Barnes and Noble Bookstore. The dice have a skull and crossbones on the one pip. Are the dice cups hard plastic that dosn't bend, or are they a softer pliable material?

I saw it in Toys R Us last Saturday. At first glance, it just looked like a version of Yahtzee. According to the box, they play this game in the movie. Don't know about the contents, though.

The dice cups may well be worth the price all by themselves.

The cups are <stiff> but bendable vinyl like substance trying to simulate boiled leather

As to the rules … I have included them in my picture

Rules? I was under the impression that "Pirates' Dice" was basically "Liars' Dice" with kewl pirate cups and li'l dices with skulls and crossbones on them.

I figured I'd wait a month or two, then pick 'm up at Target for two bucks.

Yep. It's liar's dice.

Wow. I thought I was on the only one dorky enough to covet those dice cups. They do look kinda nifty, don't they?

Posting in a thread about dice towers reminded me: I finally bought this game for the dice cups, so I should try describing them.

Kevin's right, the cups are a stiff vinyl. In fact they're hard enough that they're kind of rough on the dice. I managed to visibly blunt the corners on a Gamescience d8 with about a dozen test rolls. I thinking about buying some foam sheeting at a craft store to line the cups and protect my dice.

The dice themselves are nicer than I expected. They're dark grey plastic, with some fake weathering to make them look handmade and aged. They're much cooler than my old Koplow skull-and-bones dice.

Do you know if this game is available also in europe?
