I do have some classic plastic army men (the standard quasi-WW2/quasi-modern sort), but they are really just set dressing for my plastic scuba divers game.

I've also used the police cars (but not the policemen) available in the plastic army man section of my local Walmart (the cars are sized well to fit with 28mm Heroclix cops).

And I've got some big cavemen (compared to my army men and divers, these would stand 7-9 feet tall…) that will eventually join some game…

I wonder if there are any good games for plastic army men?

I had thought about a heroic tv combat game (something like 'Combat' or 'The Rat Patrol') using Chain Reaction (now I'd use NUTS! since it's the WW@ version of CR).

I have about 1,000+ (maybe even 2K) of those cheap HO scale WWII-ish figs you can get by the bag load, plus a PILE of Johnny alightning vehicles and some other plastic stuff. Wanted to do some WWII skirmish, and can prbably do something along battalions now.
I'd like to find it a good home, as I won't get to it for another 10 years at the rate i am going!

You can use plastic army men with "Escape from Monster Island," the city- and army-stomping expansion to the "Monster Island" kaiju fighting game. It includes infantry, tanks, special forces, artillery, attack helicopters, etc. And the "Invasion of Monster Island" expansion lets your armies fight off flying saucer invasions, too.

54mm figs from Hing Fat (old Marx reproductions, I think). 200 Japanese, British, Germans and Americans for $3 USD at Big Lots. Not the greatest figs in the world, but they take paint well. I painted some of them up as ghosts and mixed these with some fantasy figs (giant wolves, big Heroscape figs and Lemax 54mm Spookytown stuff). This is what I use for my D20 Blood on the Rhine game.

I use the HG vinyl monsters for Monster Island games, or plastic models, so army men are too big in comparison… :(

How about plastic army elephants?
I have 8 Airfix Zoo Set #2 elephants, with a 25mm Numidian cavalry ridersmooshed down around his neck. They have been soldiering on proudly in my carthaginian army for years.

I have tons of them, but no particular brands.
I got several of the "buckets o' troops" from somewhere, K-Mart I think, and many of the miejer buckets.
Painted up they look fine, and they are cheap enough that double blind games are easy to do.
Any rules work fine for them, why wouldn't they?

any rules written for 25mm, you can use for 20mm (the H/O scale, also called 1/72 here in Italy).
I have a large Greek army (nexus/Italeri) and a growing Persian Army. I glue them on a 20mm by 20mm square base made of lead foil, prime them with oil-based cementite which sticks well to the plastic and makes it somewhat stiffer, then I paint them normally with acrylics and/or enamels. They look great and frankly I do not understand why there's no manufacturer doing fantasy and SF in this scale, where you usually get 50 soldiers for $6.50. I'd buy tons of these but so far you can find only historicals (I'm thinking of beginning Napoleonics in this scale)

I have some of the Italieri Napoleonics in 1:72nd scale.

Do you paint your WW2 plastic army men?

Is there a Godzilla in 54mm scale to pit against all those GIs?
