Here are some photos of a game I ran at The MMGA ReCon event last Saturday.

The scenario involved RAF Hurricanes and French D520s intercepting a group of Stukas escorted by a pair of 109s somewhere over France, June 1940. The Hurricanes ganged up on the lead Stuka and shot it down, then blew away the #2 Stuka. The D520s closed slowly from the rear. The lead D520 opened up with a long burst from 500 yards but jammed his left battery of MGs. His wingman pitched up to try to head off the 109s, which after a close range, forward quarter attack on the Hurricanes that missed, were heading toward the French. (This sounds like a German sentance.) The lead D520 continued to close on the rearmost Stuka, inflicting hits from 400 yards, then blazed away with another long burst which expended his cannon ammo and jammed the rest of his MGs. His target was damaged, but escaped. The German escorts were unable to effectively engage the enemy due to theirn decisive engagement and disengagement. Thanks to all who played.

Special thanks to Tom Tolliver, who took the photos and posted them on his website:

Cool !

Do you use the QS rules or the full rules ? I keep thinking about using the QS rules for minis, but like a lot of projects I think about hasn't happened.

Ok. The link is a bit bent. But if you click on it and then hit "go back" on the error message, you get where you want to be.

I use both QS and 2nd edition. Depends on the scenario and what I'm trying to accomplish. This was a FR scenario.
Personally, after playing the 2nd edition full rules for a few years, playing QS is like putting training wheels on your Harley. I do use QS for intro games, but prefer the whole kit & kaboodle. I don't think that the QS rules are really that much easier to learn, but maybe because I mastered the 1st and 2nd edition rules before I tried the QS version. It's like learning Dutch after learning German. Similar, but different. It's the details, or lack thereof that confound me.
