The folder does have this caption. I would think it is a con exclusive then. Cthulhu Goodness Cthulhu which will be sold for $89 USD while at the same time retailers can get free with a 2 booster case and 12 starter pack preorder. |

Cthulhu will be available at Cons but, as Wizkids pointed out to us retailers last night at the GTS, consumers will also be able to purchase one when they purchase a case of the new HorrorClix boosters from their local, friendly, brick-n-mortar hobby store. Speaking as a Cthulhu fan and someone who has actually seen it live; yes, it ROCKS and yes, the PRECIOUS must me mine! John Coviello Owner/Public Relations Manager shopofmagic.com |

Thanks for the update CaesarCovi
but one question
do you have to buy a CASE or is it a buy it by the BRICK promotion like the Heroclix collector sets? Chuck |

Cool, but a little too humanoid for me. |

All heck yeah. My Pulp Cthulhu game screams for that guy. He's so much better looking than the weedy vinyl kit I bought. Anyone on TMP going to be able to get these when available? |

Dammit! I was going to avoid the whole Horror Clix thing.. and then they had to do this. |

Thats really cool but after the Galactus fiasco (I don't like attempted tramplings by crazed fanboys), I see little chance of me getting one of these. |

OH MY BEAUTIFUL ELDER GAWD!!! Damn those WizKids people!!!! The more I see of HorrorClicks, the more I want to buy it – just for the figures, not for the game. |
| Heyoka James | 15 Mar 2006 4:04 p.m. PST |
Actually, early word on the HorrorClix (depending on how much value you place on opinion) from GTS has been good. I really is apparently very different from the other clix game play. |

They should have Amish Clicks where the dial has little numbers for Humility, Plowing, Praisin', Brotherhood, and Barn Raisin' You don't fight with them. They just do work and rejoice in the simplicity and community until they can't stand it any more. When the dial gets all the way to the end they freak out and go buy a pickup with a Hemi engine and then are shunned until they can make a repent roll. Or something. Or we could have Lutheran clix where the goal is to politely argue with catholics about religeous minutiae, consume red jello at church fellowships, avoid weight gain due to beer and sausage, and try to keep your kids from getting themselves pierced all while fighting over the back pew in church. Dial Numbers would have a score for how many doughnuts or cookies you typically eat after church at the fellowship hall with the coffee, favorite nontraditional hymn numbers, a dollar amount of how much you usually put in the collection plate, and a rating that shows how much of the bible you believe literally happened. Arguments come in the form of bickering, sarcasm, passive agressive behavior, and "understanding and tolerating other points of view withou emracing them". There would be three main factions, those that prefer the new blue hymnal, those that prefer the older green hymnals, and those that prefer the really old red hymnals. Allied Sub-factions include ELCA, Missouri Synod, urban church, suburban church, rural church, and Youth Ministry Outreach camp. The closer the subfaction the more arguments the two clicks will experience. When the dial reaches the end the clix is said to be "tight lipped" and it must flee the table to "go take care of some errands". Bourgeoisie Clix? Gamer Clix? Redneck clix? Paranoia clix? |

If you follow the initial link and click on the other Horroclix j-pegs to the left of the picture of the Great Green One, you get an intriguing glimpse at a few of the other figures we haven't seen yet, including a frakkin' huge werewolf and some vampire hunter(?) with a sword. The third pic has a werewolf in trousers, with a card entitled "Dog Soldier"
Hmmm, verrry interesting

Neat, but watcha gonna do with it? I guess if you just want to paint it and set it up someplace, okay, but how could Cthulhu himself ever actually fit into a game? He appears, PCs die. This takes about one turn. |

cwchmc: Sorry, it's a brick – buy a brick and get a Jack the Ripper figure + qualify for purchasing a Cthulhu figure. Heyoka James: Read my previous post: you don't have to go to a Con or stand in line for this one. Your local brick-n-mortar shop can help you secure one :) |

"Neat, but watcha gonna do with it?
He appears, PCs die. This takes about one turn." Maybe so, but after playing Arkham Horror many mnany times (and actually having the right combination of character/magic items/spells *ONCE* to defeat the great green one – although only one of four PC's survived) I can think of a few scenarios in which something like this could appear
I have to admit, though, as much as I like this model I agree that it's a little too humanoid looking. Although I'll probably have to obtain one based solely on principal, I'm more looking forward to this one for use on my gaming tabletop: link Mmmmm
sanity loss. ;) Christopher Game Werks |
