Has anyone played it, and is it worth $50. It looks interesting, but without a description on the back, I'm a little gun shy about getting it. Anyone? |

This is GREAT Game!! It is kind of like Risk, pretty similar acutally, except that you get to summon giant Cthonic beasties to blast the sanity and bodies of your foes! I think that it's worth the $50 - I've played it lots of times with my friends. The only complaint that I have is all the little cardboard pieces - I would prefer them to be plastic, but you can't have everything. If you want a more detailed description of gameplay and mechanics, I can give it. Just post again and I'll reply. -Alex in Alaska |

Kind of average, I played it once or twice and that was enough. You could probably make the rules up if you know a bit about minis and Cthulhu. |

I love this boardgame as well, but the price tag is a bit high. It is A LOT like Risk and takes quite a bit of time to play, even under the "Fast and Bloody" rules. Still, if you're a fan of the Cthulhu Mythos, it's worth a look. While we're on the subject, a much better Cthulhu game, IMO, is "The Hills Rise Wild". It also lends itself very well as a skirmish game, as that is the core theme. I've actually painted minis representing a few of the clans and bought several Cthulhu minis to represent the various beasties. It has the same tounge-in-cheek feel as CAA and is a total blast to play with the right crowd. |

Hmmm...what Vohramir said. Cults is a fun game but a little long and a little expensive for what you get. Hills is quicker, cheaper, and much more attractive visually. They're both worth getting if you're a Cthulhu fan, but expect to play Hills more often. |

I met somebody that said Hills was much better than Cults, so I think I'll give Hills a try. Thanks. |

I've never heard of the game. Who publishes it? |

Thanks. It appears I can pick up The Hills locally (Australia). |

Both of those are definitely worth getting if you're into Lovecraft, and have a sense of humor. Hills can be played with two people, whereas Cults needs at least three or four. 'Arkham Horror' (board game), and 'Mythos' (cards), both by Chaosium, are also good. |

I dunno... Hills is a great little game, but the cut-out paper figures have always just pissed me off... And I LIKE that Cults is pretty much just like Risk - Risk is fun! But, yeah, I'd have to agree that Cults is much more enjoyable if you're a Lovecraft fan with a sense of humor. Buy them both! :) |
