This is really all I have been able to find so far: link Does anyone have any additional links on: * Jean (Fluery) Florin, aka Giovanni da Verrazano * Jean d'Ango * Francois Le Clerc, aka Jambe de Bois ('Wooden Leg') * Jacques de Sores Thanks in advance. CC link |

I guess if my name search proves fruitless, I can always try to piece together their careers from the histories of each port and island. "The island of Cuba became a favorite prey of pirates, often operating under the authority of one European power or another. In 1554 Peg-Leg Leclerc seized Santiago de Cuba; in 1555 Jacques de Sores burned Havana, a city that had also been occupied by a French fleet in 1538." link CC |

Many do seem to forget that the English were not the only pirates/privateers of the 16th century. CC |

I always liked the picture in the Ian Heath book of the French Trader gone Native with the Tupi |

That is one of my favorite. I actually have tried to convert 4 of the Foundry Ancient Germans in the AG-17 pack: link I added loincloths to two of them, the other one has sailor pants now, while the last one is wearing renaissance pants. One has a javelin now, another one a machete, while two have Essex arquebuses. Greenstuff is great, isn't it? I am about to prime them and should have pictures once I get back home next weekend. CC |

CC, Are you going to put these links on The Practical Soldier group? Lowtardog, You could convert a DA naked warrior into the French trader gone native w/ some extra bits and an arquebus. |

These Portuguese are going to be great as, among other things, 16th century French (Huguenot) corsairs: link CC |
