Is there a sealer that would effectively seal/protect gypsum plaster? I've got some HirstArts pieces cast in Excalibur dental plaster that I'd like to seal. I've tried Future, and the plaster just seems to absorb/soak it

Unibond sealer, dilute, give two coats, supplied by any DIY store, explain to 'whoever' what you need to achieve. Pasterers use this method on porous surfaces and metal. Derek |

Even plasterers use it. D |

Check the Hirst Arts forum, there are lots of tips there. I just cast some of the Sci-Fi walls by dipping the PoP "masters" in future floor polish, letting them dry on a towel, and then sanding the bottom flush with 400 grit sandpaper. |

Unibond is expensive, just use diluted PVA, much cheaper. Adding a few drops of surface tension breaker to the dilute PVA helps it soak into the surface better too. Tony H |

Gildas beat me to it! Watered down PVA is fine and cheap for this purpose. |

I bought a jar of sealant from the local hobbystore. Looks sort like watery varnish, milky in colour. Paints on. |
