I think I'll have to go for Pulp Figure's one

You also forgot the GW Yehetees: link Now I'm not saying they are the best of the bunch, but were I in need of a smelly, hairy, giant hominid (in miniature, that is, and no jokes about the level of my personal hygiene if you please) I might turn to Copplestone. |
Malcolm M | 20 Dec 2005 2:18 a.m. PST |
The Heresy one is, in my opinion, the best. Then again who says my opinion counts for anything |
twfigurines | 20 Dec 2005 3:48 a.m. PST |
I have the Westwind ones and rate them very high. You link to Westwind is for the Yeti unit pack (that'S 4 models. If you want just one you should consider this one link who is the leader of the pack and a more massive beast. The Copplestone Yetis are beatyfull but very small. The Heresy Yeti does look impressive on the pics, haven't seen it in metall. |
Dave Crowell | 20 Dec 2005 4:06 a.m. PST |
The funny thing is none of them look particularly like the descriptions we have of the beasts. Where is the conical head, sagital crest, beetle brow, red-brown fur, etc? I have the Westwind leader and he is impressively huge. |
Warrenss2 | 20 Dec 2005 4:12 a.m. PST |
If your after a shy and reclusive, but possibly dangerous yeti I'd go with the Pulp Figures one. If you want a meaner looking one then I'd say either the West Wind or the GW Yehetees. They look like they could also pose as a supernatural Wendigo for some adventures with a little horror in them. |

Crocodile Games (Makes the Wargods of Aegyptus line) came out with some Weindigo as a preview for the Wargods of The north (Norse?) that they plan to do. They don't carry them on the online store though, but you see them on ebay alot. They were done just as well as the rest of their minature line. |
Norscaman | 20 Dec 2005 8:34 a.m. PST |
I think that the new reaper yeti (not the old one) is the best. picture Gigantopithecus blacki is the "real" yeti as far as I am concerned: link Find a figure that looks like that and I'll buy it! |

Who makes the best Yeti/Sasquach/Bigfoot for 28mm? Copplestone Castings (Yeti):looks more like a Wendigo. Nice! Pulp Figures (Giant Hairy Hominid): too expensive Reaper (Yeti): lump of lead Westwind (Yeti):very cute and 4 for the price (which is dear) or (Ape Mutant): better price, no personality Old Glory (Ice Troll): good price, no personality Heresy (Snow Troll): my God! Winner! Or do you nominate another of your own? Well, I was going to suggest: link or link |

Personally, I vote for the Copplestone and Westwind products — they all look very cool. |

I have Copplestone and Westwind. I use them in GASLIGHT, with a Cheyenne shaman doing the mind control thing. I use Sustain and Start rolls to simulate his mind control, r lack thereof. If you want to know the best, ask Bill for a poll. 8^) It certainly sounds like a good topic, and we haven;t hany lately. |

Some pretty nice models. I like the Heresy and the Reaper Saquatch the best, although the Westwind Yetis are neat also. |

Hello, everybody. Been visiting here for quite a while (O.K., lurking) and just recently registered. I'm into prehistoric, animal and fantasy minis. Don't actually game with them in miniature gaming anymore, no one around here who plays. I use them in my D&D campaign, collect and paint 'em. You'll have to forgive me, I'm kind of old school and can't quite give up on some of the old figures out there yet. I'll take the old Grenadier yeti from their Fantasy Lords line. I think he was originally intended to be 25mm, but at over twice the heighth of a 28mm human, this guy really fits the bill if your looking for a fig to represent the biggest variety of the yeti, the carnivorous, 14' tall dzu-teh. Tall, lean, not overly furry and just human enough to be creepy. I still see this fig on ebay from time to time. Ral Partha had a couple of figures under their Shadowrun line, I think they were marketed as "Sasquatch and Wendigo", though there isn't much in the way to distinguish them as two different critters and they are rather small (human sized). I use these figures in my D&D campaign (which has been greatly influened by R.E. Howard and numerous "lost world" settings) as chakans. Again, I see these on ebay from time to time. Of the newer stuff, I've been wanting to get a hold of the Pulp Figures GHHs. None of the others really fit my tastes. But IMHO, if what you're looking for is a truly imposing hominid that will rip the heads off your cavemen and then use their spears for picking its teeth, the Grenadier figure is the way to go. |

Dark eye/Hobby Products Yeti (from Ralpartha store): picture KenzerCo° and RalPartha both do one too. I remember the Grenadier one. It was a classic standard Yeti, IIRC. Never seen pics online though. The Copplestone are my faves but I admit more as grendel or troll-like creatures. They are actually based on the Yetis from the White Lama graphic novel series. link |

Don't forget the whitetusk growlers for VOR; you can check them out on the ralpartha europe website. ralparthaeurope.co.uk The huge whitetusk chieftain can only be got from IWM, IIRC. |

Fenryll miniatures, a French company that does resin miniatures, do a Yeti figure in their Monsters line. He has the requisite conical head and a Tibetan-style base, complete with prayer-bell(?). Not sure how big he is, but he certainly looks imposing
