Doc, your arguments were beaten like a ginger stepchild the last time you trotted out this silliness, and you were forced to resort to the classic loser's demand for "civility" because someone had been rude enough to point out that you were posting untruths.

I really don't think that citing the opinion of a warmongering fruitcake like Saakashvili does anything to add credibility to your position.

Fruitcake or not, I think the people in eastern Europe who used to be part of the Soviet Empire (aka the Evil Empire)and who now are not have a useful perspective on who gets credit.

As to civility, read back over this one and then over the current thread on theology and see what a difference basic civility makes.

Whatever RR's responsibility for the Cold War and its end, it can be argued that his administration's secret policy of negotiating with, and ultimately rewarding terrorists, with no gain on our side whatsoever, emboldened and encouraged terrorism. Which ultimately led to 9/11, and the net defense spending since 9/11 has outpaced (in real dollars and in % of spending) the gains won from the military budget after the Cold War.

Short-lived relief indeed.
