Looking at a box of Perry plastic American infantry and wondering if anybody tried painting their Americans to look like Bill Mauldin's Willie and Joe--scruffy, tired, worn uniforms. If so, what did you do to achieve that look? Here's an example: link Grelber |

I do 20mm and all my Americans look ragged. Mixed uniforms and the like. I have yet to master the bearded look at that scale. I willing to bet there are some really great jobs done in 28mm. |

I would do the flesh normally, but a dilute Contrast type for the Shadow beard. Start very dilute, build it up with more layers it passes.
