We will respond. Hopefully more than just a slap. 👋

Sounds like an air to air collision rather than a genuine shoot down.

Strikes have been launched 5pm. According to statements: "proportional and defensive only".

IIRC the AH-64 was shot down … No matter … the crew was saved.

And yes that is one high-tech piece of equipment. More like something out of sci-fi. Who knows what other things are in the inventory or in the works.

I think it's time restart the campaign and finish the islamist off. They would rather die then make a deal with "The Devil" … "The Great Satan"

Looks like Hell's coming to breakfast … and at every other meal in Iran …

Striker10 Jun 2026 3:42 p.m. PST

The only way to finish it is to put troops in and fight it out. Missile strikes and bombs haven't collapsed the regime. Is that the option now?

Personal logo ochoin Supporting Member of TMP10 Jun 2026 4:15 p.m. PST

Not really. A US invasion of Iran would be an enormous undertaking and far riskier than Iraq 2003. Neither side appears to want that.

The more likely outcome is a prolonged cycle of strikes, drone attacks, missile launches and reprisals—essentially a low-level conflict that can drag on for years unless one side makes a major miscalculation. There is no simple off-ramp, other than the US accepting terms that would look uncomfortably like defeat.

History suggests ill-conceived wars often get stuck in that uncomfortable middle ground rather than escalating straight to invasion.

Putin thought Ukraine would be a push-over. The war over in weeks. Trump thought the same about Iran. Hit them hard with bombs and take out their top leaders and Iran will fold. We have now learned that neither men were right.

As I posted on my FB page this morning …

Updated intel on the AH-64 that went down in the Strait of Hormuz yesterday.

Was hit by an Iranian drone.
Did a water landing in the Strait.
The 2 crewmen were in the water with flotation devises.
The US launched a surface drone/boat. No crew, just AI, etc. …
This boat is named the Corsair. It has no humans on it, it is autonomous.

24ft long
35 knots top speed
1000-mile range
Carries about 1000lbs

It looks like a small fishing boat, with a covered bridge.
Was used in Ukraine[of course] against the Russian Navy.
Again, this is an amazing piece of tech, will save US lives. And should be able to be configured for different offensive/defensive missions.

The US executed about 20 strikes on targets mostly on Iran's coastline. Doing significant damage to Iran's remaining assets.

Iran said they launched some attacks on US locations in some of the allied Arab nations across the Strait from Iran.
The US will do a counterstrike if they have not already, on more of Iran's assets and possibly some infrastructure. E.g. power plant, oil facilities, etc.

All Ret. high ranking GENs, ADMs, etc. have said. That we must strike and remove Iran's islamists threat. Again, ensuring they will have no nukes, can't supply other islamic terrorists, can never interfere with shipping in the Persian Gulf, etc. As well as freeing Iran's people from these moslem medieval barbaric savages.

We don't have the intel the POTUS, Pentagon, etc. has. So we really don't know why the US is not starting immediate counterstrikes. And ending these savage murders. But I and others believe Iran's islamic regime will be "reaping the whirlwind" soon …

The POTUS told all it will happen …

And it did last night, today, and AFAIK tonight …

Yet none of you complained about Barrack the magnificent.

I've already posted elsewhere he also altered and changed objectives as the conflict expanded and kept going past initial "estimates".

"President Obama stated that active U.S. military involvement in the Libyan conflict would last "days, not weeks". He gave this timeframe to bipartisan congressional leaders in March 2011, explaining that the U.S. would subsequently transition to a supporting, back-seat role in the coalition."

😱
"Critics argue the phrasing was a political maneuver to avoid the War Powers Act and public backlash:

Continued Hostilities: Even though NATO took the lead, American military assets—including remotely piloted Predator drones—continued to fire missiles and participate in active combat operations for months.

The Total Timeline: The entire military intervention ultimately lasted seven months until Muammar Gaddafi was captured and killed in October 2011."

Trump thought the same about Iran.
And you know this how ? Did he tell that to anyone ? If so I have not heard it?

We have now learned that neither men were right.
To say that means comparing Putin's war going on for 5 years. Verses the POTUS's about 3 months of conflict with Iran …

Or Putin's huge losses in men and material.

The US in Iran. Very few losses …

Don't see the equivalency …

Come on Legion! They told us it was a failure on day 2. 😉

IF ONLY he had just consulted Barrack with his vast experience with Libya or Biden with his wonderfully successful "withdrawal" from Afghanistan.

So true … just ask many of those in the media and those on the other side of the aisle.

The only war I can think of that was won by "bombardment" was the British bombardment of Zanzibar on 27 August 1896.

This is known as the Anglo-Zanzibar War, officially recognized as the shortest recorded war in human history, lasting a mere 38 to 45 minutes.

45 minutes or 102 days? I think the Washington regime made a slight miscalculation, what?

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP11 Jun 2026 8:50 a.m. PST

Here is my post on another threatd here.

The only ones that made miscalculations are some of the amateur armchair Gens here, IMO…

Again the POTUS, JCS, etc. knows more about what is really going on. On the ground, in the air, at sea and under the sea. Without more release of intel. Any comments are just speculation. That is a fact at least from a military aspect.

No blind faith, IMO and others. Based on the US Military's recent successes in combat at tactical, operational, and even strategic levels. Plus the US Military has displayed some very high-tech pieces of equipment that really were amazing. That many in the world don't have.

So what do some think the POTUS, etc. should say in an unclassified environment ? An environment that within the US Congress and media is very negative. Plus many on the street only see high gas prices, etc. They are not savvy enough or just don't care what Iran having deployable nukes would mean for the region and many other places in the world.

I'd say with the 5th Column in the Congress and media. They can't be trusted. Probably not any more than the remains of Iran islamist leaders.

From a military POV … those are facts. To not take those into consideration could cost US lives. We care about our people. Iran does not …

FWIW Ret. US Army GENs Kean and Kellog as well as Ret USMC COL Jernigan pretty much said everything, I have been saying and more. Or more like I am saying all they are saying. But again even a Combat Arms ARMY CPT with over a decade on active duty with 4 Combat Infantry Bns can see, judge, etc. with some level of accuracy.

And yes dare I say I probably know better than many here who never had similar credentials. And yes, I'm being a jerk pulling the Vet Card. But I think that is worth mentioning.

Now what is really beginning to annoy me, and others is this has gone on much too long. Even if Iran goes for a deal as the POTUS outlined. The possibility of Iran's theocracy actually following the points of that deal is very, very unlikely. As those Ret senior officers and others have said a number of times.

E.g. as some thought they would with the JPCOA. That was a bad poorly thought-out, naïve, etc. deal. And relied on Iran following the deal. Which they wouldn't … That is the same situation here.

I have no idea why the POTUS is playing the waiting game with these radical islamist murderer. He and everybody knows that is Iran's SOP, predilection, etc. That is how they do business.

Again none of us know what the POTUS, JCS, CIA, etc., etc. know all the facts of this situation. However, it seems many lead by the historical facts that Iran can't be trusted. And heavy continuing strikes have to commence. To do what is how many wars are won. Destroy the enemy's capabilities, assets, C3I, etc. Break their will to resist, their will to continue the conflict, etc.

We know these islamic hardliners would rather die than give into the Great Satan, the infidels …

As all those Ret. senior officers have been saying … Iran can't be trusted … It is time to end that islamic regime. Which means more death and destruction to rid the world of these medieval butchers.

And yes it may take more than 102 days …

As we saw with WWII Imperial Japan. The US had to use a terrible new weapon, twice. We won't and don't have to do that in this case. However, who knows what classified devices we have? Regardless, the USA's very accurate, very destructive, very lethal weapons we have been using seems to be able to do all that is needed.

Again what does the US gov't have to say to appease the detractors ? I'm betting not much will satisfy some … However the total destruction on Iran's islamist regime will have to be the path to ending this conflict.

Plus I pretty much can safely say, based on the USA's passed conflicts with moslems, islamists, jihadis, etc. There are plans to end the regime, how to do it and how to assist getting a new friendly gov't in Tehran, etc. Not the "Gens" here, in Congress, the media etc.

Iran fired some drones at ships in the Persian Gulf about 12 hrs. ago. There is a strong fanatical faction that is not going to actually give in to the US, IAEA, etc. E.g. IRGC, Basij, Iraqi and other Shia Militias they are on a mission from their false god.

They want all infidels gone …

I don't know what is going on behind closed doors between the US Admin and whatever version of Iran's remaining gov't. So I can't say who, what, where, why, etc. exactly is being said and done.

However, another Ret BG, Mark Kimmet interviewed today. Made it clear, as many others like him have stated. The IRGC, Basji, etc. will not allow any US Forces, IAEA, etc. ever get on the ground to extract that deeply buried nuclear material.

It would take a concerted effort using heavy Combat Engineer equipment, possibly demo, hundreds if not thousands of Combat Engineers in at least 3 location in Iran. Plus a number of Infantry units for security, etc.

Plus Iran's nuclear material could be very hazardous to be around, handled, etc. As well as placed in heavy lead, etc. containers and 90-100+ sorties of C-130s or even C-17s to get that out of Iran. And properly disposed of, etc. Most likely in the USA.

This whole operation will take a very long time … Including having to construct improvised landing strips. Near by the nuke location sites.

None of this can happen with any resistance from Iran's radical islamist elements still being around.

These elements must be removed if there will ever be peace in the region. And no threat of nuclear WMDs in islamist hands.

Given the sensor array on a longbow Apache, the odds of the Iranians flying a drone into it are pretty slim. Knowing Apache pilots the way I do, I suspect these clowns were "playing" with this thing and violated the law of physics that states that two bodies cannot occupy the same space in time.

Once again they learned that life sucks when you discover that the laws of physics still apply but no longer in your favor.
