I am thinking along the lines of the Alamo Sourcebook, or BLOOD OF NOBLE MEN. But Comancheria is a sprawling topic as opposed to the very focused Alamo siege and battle.

I want to include an extensive history section in CYNTHIA ANN'S WAR along with riles and scenarios.

I know there will be material on buffalo hunting, including, yes, the butchering stuff.

Something on trade between neighbors and the Comanche? LOTS of information on that.

I can do an extensive look at the Caitlin paintings, not just the ones he did on Comanche, but all of his Indian work.

Material on the Spanish presidials?

The OFM loves the scene from JOSEY WALES as a painting guide, and I agree, but are there other films as well? THRE SEARCHERS?

I intend to do a wargames terrain analysis of the Edwards plateau versus the high plains.

What else would be useful to gamers interested in the Comanche?

Does anyone own the boardgame of Comancheria? It is on my list but $50 USD always has more urgent uses than it.

Some hints for figure manufacturers what Iron Jacket actually wore.

Yes. And generally a survey of what minis are available. But that sort of thing is temporary in both directions.

And also photo of minis with size comparisons?

Photos of well-painted minis? If it is a digital publication there is little limit to phots in color. I love Gringo40s eye candy photos here.

John. how much have you used Caitlin's paintings?

Not much.
I go by what the figure manufacturer provides me.

We have almost no contemporary visual sources of the Comanche, and Caitlin did a series of paintings directly observing them. There are issues -- as usual, the artist had to make money so emphasized the dramatic, etc. -- but his work in general and specifically on the Comanches is a priceless source worthy of extended analysis. It has been studied in other contexts but not much by historians and not at all, as far as I know, for wargaming. Do a bing search for Caitlin Comanche painting and you will see.

99 cents on Kindle, his notes with art

I think it should include what is known about hairstyles, beadwork, body paint, clothing, shields and shield designs, and weapons used. Something on how war parties and war leaders were determined. What is known about medicine men? Who were traditional enemies and did the Comanche fighting style change with opponents? Who were their trade partners?

All good questions. Some I have to answer for the game rules. Working on reputation and victory conditions and different types of rids now.

There needs to be a lot about horses, too.
