"EPIC MILITARY THRILLER" Publishers Weekly BookLife

This is a Tom Clancy style techno thriller. I tend to skip the missiles and electronic warfare, but the central thread, besides a China-US confrontation in Panama and the Caribbean, is a mass campaign of sabotage inside the US and NATO based on a computer game called PAYBACK, which recruits players to do real acts of destruction and pays them with Bitcoin. One of the mcs is a 17 yo amoral brat-princess with a rich granddaddy; unfortunately quite believable and I think I may have taught her in my high school.

Although the blurb says "military thriller" it is at least as much espionage and high level diplomacy and politics and law enforcement. Almost no ground action but lots of ship vs plane and missiles everywhere. And AI, lots of AI.

Of course I have no idea how realistic, if any at all, the technologies are, but the human side of it rings true. If you enjoyed the early Tom Clancy and might enjoy a ultra-modern version, you might give this a try. Free if you have Kindle Unlimited.

She could not have been in your class as she was too busy bouncing her crossed legs and staring off into a space with dead eyes in my classroom. H

Hah, yeah I know THAT one, but I have also had some who excelled when they cared to -- but were good at making it clear they did NOT care.
