Robert, So enjoy your rules. They have provided hours of entertainment for myself and my gaming group. Any thought of producing a book of scenarios for the Republican phase of the war? |

Bloody Big Battles for us although certainly recommend getting hold of Bruce Weigle series, brilliant resource for 1859, 1864, 1866 and 1870/71 wars. Have been using the BBB rules for the slightly later but more colourful Pacific War between Chile and Peru / Bolivia. Gave us a good game |

Hi All, Hoping people who have played 1871 (Perris0707) can help with rules clarifications. Does a 10 always fail on morale rolls? If a unit's morale plus commander ranking pushes it to a 10 or higher, does it activate automatically? In the 1871 rule book, it states that a defending infantry or artillery unit that is being charged does not fire in the fire phase; it is factored into the charge and melee. It is contradicted in the FAQ section on the website, do units that are the target of a charge fire? Thanks!! |
