I recently ran an Assault Board Game (Assault Sicily and Assault Red Horizon) in 1/72 miniatures. The system ports over very well (using a hex map) and looks great in miniatures. I ran a home grown scenario of a Russian breakthrough during one of the winter 42/43 offensives (using units from both games). Both sides are rushing to secure a ridge line. The Germans to form a defensive position and the Russians to capture it before the Germans secure it and stop their breakthrough. A picture of the late game situation is posted on board game geek at link A number of burning tanks are visible if you zoom in and the infantry casualty count was high. The battle came down to the wire with the Russians winning by holding 10 of the 19 victory hexes following two failed German close assaults on the ridge line. |

Great to see good board game systems played with miniatures. On your next game report, could you link it over on the Miniature Boardgames section too? TMP link |
