I'm intrigued by the camel armor. Initially, I thought it might be a variation on the theory behind the design of the Nelson class battleships: "British battleships do not run away and hence are not interested in firing backward." In this case, camelphracts to not run away, and hence are not worried about being shot in the derriere. However, I understand that camels move from kneeling position (got to kneel to let the heavy, armored rider get on) to a standing position by standing with their rear legs first, then standing with their front legs. In that case, you might want the rear areas un-weighed down to make standing easier. Hmmm . . . I'll have to think about this. Grelber |
