After 15 years of amazing, paper nerdery, our founder and my father, Glenn Williams has decided step down as owner of Finger and Toe Models. With a flash of light, and a BLAZING guitar solo, the paper is now in my hands to fold.
Who am I? That's kind of you to ask! My name is Keith, and for the past 48+ years I have had the honor of being Glenn's son, and now I get the additional honor and responsibility to see Finger and Toe Models into the future! I wouldn't even DREAM of attempting to fill those shoes. What I can do, however, is try my damndest to bring you BOSS models that you can print, assemble, lay out, and Kaiju the hell out of them, only to print and play again!
As a life-long video & table-top gaming nerd, aging punk, arthritis grinding grindcore fan, Master of the Deep lore of Extreme Metal, and semi-retired IT Director/ Network Engineer, I feel particularly called to making gaming more accessible. I'm no corporate fan, so I don't do, "Mission Statements," but here is our ethos:
Gaming is for all of us. There should be as few barriers as possible.
At one time, gaming brought communities together. Marketed, at best, to a child on christmas morning. Over the years, we've seen not only scale creep, but cost as well. Gaming👏 Should👏 Be👏 For👏 All👏 Of👏 Us👏 In 2010, my father built a company based on that exact ethos. A retired Air Force officer and government employee, he built Finger and Toe Models, because gaming shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Today, it is my honor to continue that tradition. Finger and Toe Models creates affordable papercraft models for your tabletop games, toys and any other damned thing you'd like to do with paper! (As long as it's ethical.) Need a big ‘ole military installation in which to station your plastic, resin, or paper dooders but don't want to sell your left neck? How about a modular model set that only costs a few dollars, you can print right at home and assemble in an afternoon, and can be squished by a bass guitar and replaced in an evening? We've got you. Buy and print your full color models today! (as long as you print them that way, I'm not your dad!)
Going forward, I'd like to expand on that idea of accessibility. I am hoping to make new designs for the games and hobby space that we've all obsessed about since our childhoods. I'd like to see sets of dungeon tiles, Futurmun, spacefightmun, fantasy dwarvenmun standees, and many many other gloriously dorky stuff(s.) Even 3d designed and printed assistive devices! If you have been thinking about getting back into the hobby, but the price-point seems downright unfair, or if you just need helper doohickies, please watch this space.
In addition to paper, I have stepped into … THREE DEEEEEE. At Brush Thrower, we focus in miniature painting at a TableTop and TableTop+ level. The The Bard once said, "Miniatures, before anything else, are gaming pieces" and it is our hope that you and your family happily game with our miniatures for years to come!
