Hola! I have been thinking about fun Wild West scenarios to stick Mattie Ross (TRUE GRIT) into -- does anyone know of a 25mm figure that resembles the classic look of Kim Darby's portrayal in the 1969 movie? BTW, anyone who only knows True Grit from either of the two films owes it to him/herself to read the original Charles Portis novel -- it is an amazing book.

…the original Charles Portis novel… Good luck finding it. Last time I checked, it is out of print and there is no digital edition.

True Grit (novel) is out of print? Really? It's considered an absolute classic. No, I see it on Amazon in paperback currently (with a dreadful cover). I'm happy with my hardback from the late 70s or early 80s.

Empress Miniatures does have some nice things! Thanks for the tip, Greylegion. I might be able to make do with the Not Kim Darby Mattie. Work on the hair a bit, reshape the hat.
