Pretty interesting. Subject: China targets US runways, prompts new AI fighter jet development response link |

I would think tThe bigger issue with US airbase security is the Chinese pulling a Ukraine style drone strike on "secure" bases. The CCP has bought farmland and light industrial buildings near US airbases. They also have the ability to end-to-end control container shipping from China to anyplace in the US under the guide of commerce. So local base droe defense and counterespionage should be top priorities. |

Saw this story today. A VTOL, AI controlled jet fighter/drone? Brilliant. Of course we've had VTOL jets for a while— the Harrier "Jump Jet" is, I believe, still part of the US Marine corps aircraft mix. I agree, SBminisguy, Chinese CCP/affiliate owned farmland is a BIG security issue. "Eminent Domain," anyone? Finally those EPA bureaucrats can do something good for the country. "Oh, I'm sorry, China… we found a puddle, so that land is now an environmentally protected wetland. There's a unique endangered species of, uhm [rolls dice, checks chart], ‘salamanders,' which inhabits that area. It's now a federally protected reserve. So sorry." |

I believe, still part of the US Marine corps aircraft mix. IIRC the Harrier has been retired. Replaced with F-35s … mybaseguide.com/harrier-jet |

Well SVTOL is better than nothing, I guess. |
